All the products are manufactured using quality material and all staff are fully qualified in the making of garden buildings.  All the  buildings are pre-treated in a water based solution; however we recommend that you treat them again immediately after erection and yearly thereafter. As wood is a natural product some expansion and shrinkage can occur. This is not something we can prevent.

Placing an order

On ordering your building a 15% deposit would need to be made, then the outstanding balance will be paid either prior to your building being delivered and erected or on the day direct to Shaws for Sheds Ltd. All deposits are non-refundable. We recommend you come and visit the site and look at the quality of sheds before placing an order but realise not everyone can do this. We can process orders over the phone and send you a copy of the order to check before placing the order. We just need an email address, a best contact number, address details and to know that there is a level base down or there will be by the time of installation and also that there is no height restrictions or access issues. If all this information is provided we can sort the order no problem in store or over the phone whichever is the easiest. Base Preparation

When buying any garden building, it is necessary to construct a base for the building to be erected on to. This does not need to be elaborate as long as it is level and firm. This can be done by:

Slabbed Base

If using concrete slabs then sand would to be laid down first onto firm ground. The slabs would then need to be bedded into the sand making sure they are laid level.

Floor Bearers

These are tanalised treated timber of 3 x 3 inches, which would be laid under the building in the opposite direction to the floor joist. This enables the building to be lifted off the ground so it is away from any surface water and air underneath your building. They can also be used on slightly uneven ground and be packed to ensure your building sits level.

However if we arrive and the base is unsuitable there will be an additional charge and we will return at a later date and erect on a level base.

When choosing a site or the size of your building, you need to ensure there is no height restrictions that can hinder the arrival of your building e.g. alleyways or arch topped gates and that the fitters can gain access to the designated area and around the building for erecting.

Windows and Doors

On any apex and pent shed the quantity of windows would vary depending on door position and door size. Both apex and pent models can be supplied with no windows. On most models there are different configurations available depending on where you would like your windows and doors placed. Check out the brochure for this.

Aftercare

All our buildings are pre-treated in a waterbased solution: to extend the life of your shed. We recommend that you treat them again immediately after erection.

As wood is a natural product some expansion and shrinkage can occur. This not something we can prevent. The roofing felt is made for use on sheds adn summerhouses, on an occasion the felt can ripple, and is due to varying temperature changes and not an error with the material used.

Delivery

When an order is placed you will be given an estimated timescale of when your delivery will take place. Shaws for Sheds will contact you beforehand to confirm a day and time. We can also remove customer’s existing sheds, please enquire when placing an order.

Product Description

Standard:

Made from 12mm x 125mm tongued and grooved shiplap on sides and ends and matchboard on floor and roof, 50mm x 32mm framing with eased edges. These also include: Polyester green mineral felt, horticultural glass, tee hinges, lock and key and environmentally friendly base preservative. You can also upgrade to 16mm log lap cladding option too.

Heavy Duty

Made from 12mm x 125mm tongued and grooved shiplapon the side and ends and matchboard on the floor and roof, 50mm x 50mm frame with uprights, diagonal bracing, polyester green mineral felt, horticultural glass, tee hinges, lock and key environmentally friendly base preservative. Upgrades available.

Security:

Same as standard but with frame at 12″ centres, diagonal bracing, security padbolt protector, bolted hinges and 2 x 2 fully framed door.

Log Lap

16mm x 100mm tongue and groove barrel board.
